The TrailCenter Rabenberg is the ideal place for taking courses in riding technique at many different levels. Beginning with courses for starters all the way up to working with experts, you’ll find just the right course to match your needs. Our coaches and guides are passionate mountain bikers in the Ore Mountains and will help you with vital riding advice as well es a few insider tips for the region.

Level 1 - Beginners

You're new in the world of mountain biking and want to hit the trails for the very first time? Our 'Taster Kurs' is just the thing for you. We'll convey the basic techniques and skills such as proper braking, negotiating curves, up and downhill as well as heaving the front and rear wheels over obstacles.

CONTENT OF THE COURSE:

• Basic bike setup
• Basic position / gaze direction / active stand
• Balance exercises / coordination exercises
• Proper braking
• Negotiating curves, flat curve
• Safe riding uphill and downhill
• Overcoming small obstacles 0 – 15 cm
• Unburdening the bike

Level 2 - Experienced

You've mastered the basics of mountain biking and want to push yourself further? Level 2 is perfect for you. Basic techniques will be cemented and new more challenging techniques conveyed. This includes situational curve technique, overcoming obstacles and steps and the sporty choice of vectors. 

CONTENT OF THE COURSE:

• Check basic bike setup
• Basic position / gaze direction / active stand
• Situational braking techniques
• Sporty curves (flat curve, leaning in)
• Overcoming larger obstacles 15 – 30 cm
• Kickturn techniques / offsetting the front/rear wheel
• Pushing ground waves
• Sporty choice of uphill and downhill vectors

Level 3 - Experts

The easy trails are no longer interesting and you need a new challenge? This is the place for you; we don't waste too much time on the basics, instead, we hit the trails straight away. There, we'll help you refine your technique with specialities such as safely and smoothly negotiating steep curves, jumps, root networks and rocky terrain.

Level 4 - Pros

You're an established expert on the bike and seeking new challenges? Our pro course is just the thing for you. Marco Hösel, 6-time trial world champion, Tobias Mittelbach, qualified racing expert, as well as Hardy Hänel, our downhiller, will help you fine-tune your technique in a small group and take you to the highest possible level.

Kids on Trails

Our day course for the young generation who've already tasted bike-blood. Ludic learning and biking fun are the focus of attention. The ideal base: our skill-centre. This is where we lay the groundwork for the big adventure on the trails of the Rabenberg. These trails are of course just dying to be discovered and ridden on. Small groups and qualified trainers ensure that each participant is mentored individually and can improve regardless of prior experience. We take enough breaks for the kids not to overexert themselves. We've adapted the duration of the course to that of the adult course so that mum and dad can attend their own courses with peace of mind.

Ladies Only - Level 1 & 2

You feel like improving your technique and trying out new things in the company of other female bikers? Just hitting the trails without the men? The ladies' course is exactly for you!

Entirely freed of pressure, silly comments, and smart advice such “don't make a fuss”, “just stay with it and go over it” or “speed is your friend”, you'll get to improve your technique with us and try out various trails of various difficulty levels.

Our qualified riding technique trainers work together with you on consolidating your riding basics in order to negotiate the trails safely while having fun.

Women Camp

Women all by themselves – our 3–day special course just for ladies. The main focus: of course, your riding technique. You get to fine-tune your personal skills with our trainer. The base of operations, as always, is our skill-centre. We'll work on your position, practice proper braking, and plenty more before hitting the trails. To offset your efforts, entirely different content awaits you: yoga and back training will help you keep your balance.
